This 1-day course is suitable for individuals looking to pursue a career as a Crime Scene Investigator after academic studies or looking to change careers.
Our CSI trainers have designed this Day in the Life of a CSI course specifically for individuals who do not work in police forces, but want to gain insight into the role of a Crime Scene Investigator! We invite you to go behind the crime scene tape to investigate, hypothesise and learn what it’s like to work in the field!
This course is designed for students studying Forensic Science, Criminology or related university degree, or anyone looking to change careers.
What will the day look like?
The agenda proceeds as follows:
- TV versus reality
- Searching a mock scene for evidence
- An introduction to the role of the CSI
- Answer ‘What does the job as a CSI involve?’
- Practical sessions including lifting fingerprints.
- Routes into the job and training
- Expectations from courts and the Criminal Justice system
- Real-life case studies
